1. Introduction

Welcome to Echo Translate. By using the Echo Translate browser extension, website, or any related services (collectively, "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

Echo Translate is a browser extension that provides word and paragraph translation, dictionary lookup, and PDF reading assistance for language learners.

3. Plans and Pricing

3.1 Free Plan

  • Word translation: unlimited
  • Paragraph translation: limited usage per month
  • Basic features available without an account

3.2 Pro Plan

  • Unlimited paragraph translation
  • Word recall on hover
  • Priority support
  • Pricing is displayed on our website and may be updated from time to time

4. Subscriptions and Billing

4.1 Payment

  • Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
  • You must provide valid payment information to subscribe to a paid plan.

4.2 Auto-Renewal

  • Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or yearly) unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • You will be charged the applicable subscription fee at the beginning of each billing cycle.

4.3 Cancellation

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal.
  • After cancellation, you will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period.
  • No partial refunds are provided for unused time in a billing cycle when you cancel voluntarily.

4.4 Price Changes

  • We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
  • Abuse the Service by exceeding reasonable usage limits or automated bulk requests.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service.
  • Copy, redistribute, or resell any content or output from the Service.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, logos, trademarks, and service marks of Echo Translate are the property of Echo Translate and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use them without prior written consent.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that translations will be accurate, complete, or error-free. The Service is intended as a language learning aid, not a professional translation tool.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Echo Translate shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Service Availability

  • We strive to provide continuous service but may experience downtime for maintenance, updates, or technical issues.
  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice.
  • If we terminate the Service during your paid subscription period, we will provide a pro-rata refund for the unused portion.

11. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Echo Translate operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
